Sep 16, 2023Fox Tank Company: New $7.9M facility will bring 89 jobs to Coshocton
COSHOCTON –– A company connected to the oil and gas industry is coming to Coshocton with the promise of a $7.9 million investment and creation of 89 new jobs.
Fox Tank Company is a Texas-based provider of steel storage tanks and pressurized separation vessels for the oil and gas industry. Chief Executive Officer R. Nathan Fox said they were interested in locating a manufacturing site in the region because of its proximity to the growing Marcellus and Utica Shale drilling for oil and gas and existing customers.
The facility is at 16867 Ohio 83, the former site of Crozier Welding. Fox said they are leasing the property and while there were already buildings and equipment there, which made the site attractive, they are looking at further renovations and building on.
"We're looking to go full scale there, as soon as we get everything all in place. We're going to be adding some buildings and doing some different things that will increase our capacity where we can build tanks as well as the pressure vessels," Fox said. "We expect to be rapidly increasing things."
Fox said they are already working on projects at the site and are looking to hire more welders. In fact, the number of available welders in the area was another factor that made Coshocton enticing for expansion.
"It was important to us to get the expertise of the personnel. There seems to be a high skill level of welders in that area, which is exciting," Fox said.
The family-owned business was founded in 1979 in Kerrville, Texas, and specializes in API-grade tanks for upstream and midstream operations. It serves customers across the U.S. A statement on the expansion from Ohio Southeast Economic Development said Fox Tank is known for quality craftsmanship and quick turnaround times.
“The expansion comes in response to the increasing demand for Fox Tank’s equipment from customers producing oil and natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations covering Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio,” Fox said. “This strategic move will create many new jobs in Coshocton and the surrounding area and further solidify Fox Tank Company’s position as a key economic driver in the region. The expansion also allows FTC to better serve our customers, both established and new, with faster delivery times, lower freight rates and enhanced support.”
The project was supported by a $450,000 JobsOhio Grant and a Job Creation Tax Credit from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority. Also working on bringing Fox Tank local were the Ohio Department of Development and the Coshocton Port Authority.
“We are thrilled to welcome Fox Tank Company to Coshocton County and proud to have played a role in supporting this transformative investment,” said Coshocton Port Authority Executive Director Tiffany Swigert in the statement. “This $7.9 million commitment and the creation of 89 new jobs mark a major milestone for our community. Fox Tank’s decision to grow here is a testament to the strength of our workforce, the potential of our industrial assets and the collaboration among our local, regional and state partners. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
